Watch: Beyoncé Releases A Second Music Video Teaser For Run The World (Girls)
As I mentioned earlier, David and I were lucky enough to see an early screening of the year’s FIRST Summer blockbuster film Thor here in LA last night and I am happy to report that I really loved the film. Forget for a minute that Thor is a really exciting action movie, what I loved most about the film was the story and the direction. Yes, folks, this is a superhero film worth seeing for cinematic reasons rather than merely FX and explosions.
With Kenneth Branaugh in the director’s seat, you have to know that Thor is not going to be your run-of-the-mill superhero flick. Yes, Thor tells the tale of the God of Thunder depicted in the long-running Marvel comic book series … but it also tells the centuries old myths from Norse lore. Much of the scenery that is used for the worlds of Asgard and Jötunheim is all CGI … but it is among the most flawlessly beautiful CGI I’ve ever seen. We saw Thor in IMAX 3D and I couldn’t get over how amazingly beautiful the special effects looked. Branaugh really outdid himself with this film. His mastery of bringing Shakespeare‘s stories to the big screen is legendary … who knew he had it in him to have the same skill for big budget action films as well? As for the story, we learn the Thor “creation myth” (ie. how the superhero Thor came to be) but we also get a very loose retelling of the Norse myth as well. Not only is the story adventurous but it’s also very funny. The entire cast is just fantastic … Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin is EVERYTHING. He plays the Allfather to a tee. Kat Dennings provides the PERFECT comedic relief … but lead actor Chris Hemsworth also provides a few LULz of his own. And people, let me tell you … Hemsworth makes a beautiful god. There’s a shirtless scene that literally made the audience gasp. I really loved every single second of this film. I was a bit worried how they were going to make the god Thor seem believable on Earth … but they managed to not only make him believable but kinda relatable as well. Do you remember how flawlessly executed the first Iron Man film was? Thor is just as good or BETTER than that. If you can, I recommend seeing the film in IMAX (IMAX 3D if you can) because the size and scope really makes a difference. Thor sets a high standard for the rest of the superhero and blockbuster films to come this year. It’s really fantastic.
MAKE SURE you stay in the theater until after the credits finish rolling … there is an extra scene at the very, very end that you cannot miss.
I cannot recommend Thor enough … it’s an excellent blockbuster film … I really think all y’all will truly enjoy it.

Simon Cowell To Re Launch Top Of The Pops?
He hasn't even launched the American X Factor yet, and he's already thinking of what's to come after that!
Simon Cowell is reportedly planning to revamp the iconic BBC music show, Top of the Pops, which was canceled in 2006, but this time, he wants to expand it past just the UK!
He explains:
"It's not cost effective [...]
… And the art teacher watched as the fellow student inked the 16-year-old and two other kids.
Really?!
That's pretty atrocious, to have someone who is in an authority position completely ignore the dangers that this poses. And it DID have dangers, it turns out:
Lovella Deloatch let her daughter Timisha get her grandmother's initials professionally tattooed on her arm and the words "beautiful nightmare" on her lower back.
That was before they learned Timisha is a type 1 diabetic.
"It could get infected easily, she could get gangrene easily. It wouldn't heal, it could still be bleeding and I wouldn't know because it was on the inside, she could lose a limb, anything. She might have made a bad judgement call for herself, but she's 16, the adult was supposed to have stepped in and said no."
We just don't know how this makes sense to someone who was hired to teach these kids. It's such a stupid idea. Seriously. Even the most reckless person could see it!
An investigation is under way, of course, and we'd definitely like to see something done about this!
Terrible!

Links Found Between Harry Potter, Osama Bin Laden
For some time now comparisons between the "Harry Potter" saga and chase of Osama Bin Laden have been mentioned and, as the final movie readies for release and the word of Osama's death spreads, the story's inevitable subtext has come to light once more.
As The Hollywood Reporter notes, the first of the Potter movies, "Sorcerer’s Stone," was released in November 2011 (just months after 9/11), in which the ongoing conflict between Harry and the evil force bent on destroying him, Lord Voldemort, was revealed.
Previously touted as "He Who Must Not Be Named," Voldermort was first put forth as a somewhat unknown entity, much like Osama, until a course of events ensued in which he takes on a more physical and prevalent presence, which comes to a head in the last volume as he and Potter battle it out in a seismic one-on-one fight.
Those who've carried with the saga and who have also been exposed to Hollywood's renditions of the 9/11 tragedy, along with the race to find Bin Laden, can notice inevitable similarities between Harry's reluctant quest to defeat the evil force and America's quest to find it's public enemy number one.
Whether those echoes actually shadow a link between the series and the death of Osama is unknown, however, the theory will undoubtedly rev up even more interest in what is expected to be one the biggest blockbusters of the summer.

Kenny Chesney Lands His 20th #1 Hit On Country Songs Chart!
Wowsa, Kenny Chesney!
Back in October, we were impressed with Kenny when his album Hemingway's Whiskey hit the #1 spot on both the Soundscan Top-200 AND the Country Albums charts.
Now, Chesney's success continues, and his single Live a Little has become his 20th #1 on Billboard's Country Songs airplay chart!

Better not use those smart phones for anything illicit…
Lately, there's been some paranoia concerns that iPhone and Android devices keep track of users' locations.
In a sketcherrific move by Apple, the company hasn't issued a statement on the subject, and Google's only response was to say that they "obtain permission to run all Android location tracking services, and that location data is not traceable to individual users."
Here are a couple of creepy tidbits to keep in mind:
-iPhones and iPads "collect time-stamped location coordinates" very frequently (as much as every few minutes)
-Google Androids collect location data AND send it to Google for advertising purposes
There's talk of potential lawsuits regarding this issue, and a privacy rights bill proposed by Sen. John Kerry and Sen. John McCain could def pick up some steam thanks to Apple and Google sketchiness.
Should we even be writing this? Are they monitoring us? OMG, ARE THEY WATCHING US RIGHT NOW????
LOLz.
Do U think Apple and Google are watching our every move?

Flavor Flav Being Sued For A Buck, Buck Over Chicken Restaurant
This was such a bad idea - a bad idea right from the very start. He's sorely regretting getting involved now!

Tommy claims the pair were supposed to be [...]
This morning, al-Qaida took to militant websites to confirm to their followers that Osama Bin Laden is dead and in fact died at the hands of courageous Americans on Sunday.
Well, courageous to us. As you can imagine, they don't think too highly of us right now.
The statement released by Osama's duputies wished their "holy" leader be blessed by God and vowed retaliation on America for his death. Their statement reads:
"The blood of the holy warrior sheik, Osama bin Laden, God bless him, is too precious to us and to all Muslims to go in vain. We will remain, God willing, a curse chasing the Americans and their agents, following them outside and inside their countries.
Soon, God willing, their happiness will turn to sadness, their blood will be mingled with their tears."
Uh-huh. That's what you think. In the words of Hillary Clinton, "You cannot defeat us." We're already putting the kibosh on one of your attacks right now!
Turns out, shortly after the al-Qaida released their confirmation, materials obtained by the Navy SEALs who killed the al-Qaida leader revealed that the terrorists were planning on derailing an American train on the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. One idea outlined in handwritten notes, presumed to be from February 2010, was to "tamper with an unspecified U.S. rail track so that a train would fall off the track at a valley or a bridge."
Consider that plan DONEZO!

In a ceremony at St. James Palace in London on Monday, Prince Charles received the best type of college degree one can receive — the type you don't have to work for! LOLz!
We kid, we kid! We're sure he deserved the honorary degree from London Business School.
However, with the the economy in the shape it is, he'll probably have to start with an internship than work his way up, but eventually we know he'll be a successful businessman. Ha!
Congrats on the degree, your Highness!

I Love Lucy writer Madelyn Pugh Davis has died at 90-years-old at her home in Los Angeles.
Lucille Ball's daughter Lucie Arnaz made a lovely tribute to Madelyn, saying that her "professionalism, wit and inventiveness" were the key factors that made I Love Lucy a major success!
Such sweet words from Lucy's daughter.
Madelyn will be missed, but she'll be remembered for creating one of the best television shows of all time.

The Cast Of Happy Days Sues CBS For Unpaid Royalties
When last we saw photos of Zachary Jackson Levon — the only-begotten son of Elton John and David Furnish — out and about in public, he was chillin’ with his Papa David on a beach in Hawaii. Today we get to see new photos of little dude out and about here in NYC chillin’ with his nanny in a park. As you can see from the photos below, Zachary was feelin’ real tired on his walk with his nanny … so, soooo tired.
Look at those cheeks!!! So adorable. We have been enjoying a plethora of adorable baby photos here on the blog lately … but with the celebrity baby boom that is going on, I guess it’s to be expected. These photos of Zachary are just so cute … how could I not share them? Don’t you just want to pinch those chubby little cheeks? This little guy is a doll, Elton and David are very lucky to have such a beautiful boy as their son :)

Les News, 042011
Last night David and I made our way to the Neil Simon Theater on Broadway to see the new musical Catch Me If You Can. Altho I had not seen the film, I was very anxious to see this show because one of my favorite Broadway actresses, Kerry Butler, stars in the show. I was only marginally familiar with the story so I hoped that seeing it cold would be entertaining. For the most part, I thought the show was OK … but, unfortch, it wasn’t nearly as exciting or upbeat as I was hoping.
The staging, set design, costumes and overall look of the show are really it’s strongest assets. You can tell that a lot of thought about the time period went into the staging and production of the show. The overriding problem for me was the story … the long, drawn out … not very exciting story. You’d think that a show with an exciting title like Catch Me If You Can would be upbeat, sexy and feature lots of action and showy dance numbers. Sadly, that is not the case. Most of the story in Act I was just rattled off in dialogue … there weren’t too many catchy numbers to sing along to. Of the songs in the show, I couldn’t even remember any of them after the show was over … well, except for one song. Kerry Butler belts out a showstopping number (Fly, Fly Away) at the very end of the show that is THE best song of the show. I was very surprised, tho, that Kerry isn’t featured AT ALL in the entire first Act … and she is billed as the female lead. Thankfully, Act II picked up considerably and manages to save the show from being a total snooze but as a whole … the show only ends up “OK”. That being said, I’m very glad I got to see the show and did enjoy myself, for the most part. I will say that Catch Me If You Can isn’t a show that I would ever feel the need to see again and it’s not a show that I would call a Must See. Lead actor Aaron Tveit is fine in his role as Frank Abagnale, Jr. but for me the real star of the show is Norbert Leo Butz who plays FBI agent Carl Hanratty. He was the best actor/character in the show. David and I had fun but we’ve seen better shows. If you’re a fan of the Catch Me If You Can story, this show might be for you … otherwise, you may be a bit disappointed by the show’s lack of real excitement.
